She enjoyed sewing, needle work, and crocheting, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a 50 + year member of the Eastern Star and a Life Member of the American Legion. She and Earl were members of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Lockesburg.

Bobbie worked more than thirty years as Payroll Supervisor for Heldenfels Construction Company in Corpus Christi. She married the love of her life, Earl Hodges, on December 31, 1949, in Alice, Texas. She was a graduate of Miller High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. Bobbie Ann Robertson Hodges, age 90, resident of Horatio, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Wadley Regional in Texarkana, Texas.īobbie was born to Marshall Joseph and Madie Ann Spence Robertson on November 1, 1931, in Gatesville, Texas. Joanne's grandparents were from Turkey and she wanted to honor them by using their last name as her professional stage name - Abrevaya. Joanne moved to Chicago in 1999 to get her Master degree in Social Work at the University of Chicago while continuing her love of belly dancing. She discovered belly dancing in 1995 on the west coast and immediately fell in love with the art form. Joanne began her dance training with tap, jazz, and ballet in New York City, where she was born and raised and continued her dance training with modern and ballroom dancing in college.
